TEMPO.CO, Depok - A woman gave birth on the Commuter Line (KRL) train yesterday afternoon, April 25. Putri Nitrila (21), was riding the Bogor-Jakarta Kota line.
"She got on from Depok Baru Station and was going to Kota," said Anne Purba, PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) spokesperson.
Anne said Putri felt a contraction as the train was approaching the University of Indonesia Station. Officers on the train and a number of passengers helped to deliver the baby.
The train stopped for about 10 minutes during the emergency delivery process.
Anne said that the baby was born prematurely at six months.
"KCI officers immediately took the mother and her child to the University of Indonesia Hospital," she said.
